Spring is finally upon us! Usually try to live in the moment as much as possible, but this year, I’ve been anxiously waiting for it to become spring since January 1st and am so happy the weather is FINALLY starting to warm up (let’s ignore the fact that it’s forecasted to snow over Easter…)
I have to admit that I’m one of those people that changes my makeup depending on the season, and in the springtime, I ditch the vampy shades I’ve been wearing all winter. The more colourful makeup items resurface from the bottom of my collection, and in particular, you’ll see a lot of peachy shades in this post, which pretty much carry me from March to the end of August. Benefit BADgal BANG! Volumizing Mascara
I’m usually not interested in high end mascaras because I feel like drugstore mascaras get the job done just as well as any expensive mascara. On top of that, the recent PR trip for the release of this product was so over the top, and I think I’m a little salty about it because it had a hand in turning me off of this product, haha.
Today’s post is a review of the Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask. I don’t do skincare reviews often, mostly because the majority of the skincare products I use don’t have a dramatic enough effect on my skin to warrant a review. However, this mask costs $77! It’s an expensive product, so I wanted to do a review for people who might be interested in this product and are wondering if it actually works.
I purchased this mask in November as part of the VIB sale, and I thought that after 4 months of regular use, I have tried it long enough to give it a thorough review. As a reference, I have a dry skin type with a little bit of hyperpigmentation, and some random bumps here and there that aren’t breakouts or acne.
Today, I wanted to share with you a list of products that I regret purchasing. It’s the first ‘regrets’ post I’ve ever done, and I think it’s because I try to do a lot of research on products before I make a purchase. By the time I buy it, I know I’m most likely going to love it! However, it’s usually the impulse purchases that fail for me, and a lot of the products below fall into that category. The other main reason I usually regret buying a product is when the shade doesn’t work out for me.
Today is a review of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured highlighter, which is Becca’s cream version of their beloved Shimmering Skin Perfector highlighters. Unless you’re new to the beauty community, you’ll know that everyone raves about Becca’s Pressed (powder) highlighter as well as their liquid highlighter, but as I mentioned in my 8 Beauty Products I Love That No One Talks About blog post, I haven’t heard much about their Poured formula.
To be honest, I bought this product with a healthy dose of skepticism, because I’m not a fan of cream highlighters and probably would not have given this a second glance if it hadn’t been 50% off at Sephora during one of the Weekly Wow sales back in October. I’m not usually one to buy things just because they’re on sale, but discounted highlighters get me every time!
Hello, and welcome to another installment of my Feel-Good Friday series!
First off, a life update. Life is legitimately kicking my butt right now. My work is implementing a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) software that is going live April 1st, which means there’s 15 workdays to go and we just started to receive training on it at the end of this past week. Yeah, it’s bad. Getting training this late in the game means that we’re pulled into full-day training sessions for days at a time, while still trying to manage our regular workload. This means I’ve been working 12-13 hours every day and sometimes on the weekend, which leaves little time to do much else when I come home, other than eat, sleep, and shower. I’ve been more consistent with my blogging this year than I have been since starting my blog, and I feel like this is totally derailing my progress. With my blogging getting more consistent and me also wanting to spend time trying to get better at my new craft, calligraphy, I’ve been so disappointed. It feel like there’s not enough time in a day to achieve everything. Anyways, where I’m going with this is I might not be as active in the next little while, but please be patient with me!

Today’s post is a review of the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow and Shimmer & Glow liquid eye shadows, which I purchased at the end of last year.
When the launch of this product was first announced, I was so excited about the whole premise of them. Once I saw the swatches from early reviews and realized how glittery they were, I figured I wouldn’t get much use out of them and promptly lost interest. Around October, I was at Shoppers Drug Mart waiting for a prescription to be filled, and saw these on display at the Beauty Boutique. After swatching them out of curiosity, I was officially in love.

What do I mean by “buying things for the blog”? For me, this means a beauty blogger purchasing beauty or skincare products solely for the purpose of reviewing it on their blog or to have it in pictures on social media, and not really because they were interested in the product to begin with.
