Project Pan – Volume 2

Hi everyone! Two weeks ago, I posted the results of the first Project Pan that I did from January to June. In today’s post, I’m sharing with you what’s in my second Project Pan of 2018. I’ve chosen 9 products to pan during the second part of 2018. Read on to see what I will try to finish these next six months!

1. Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Liar

Part of me is sad to be finishing up this lipstick because UD no longer makes the Revolution formula anymore, but this lipstick is getting old and I should start trying to use it up. I don’t know if my skin tone has gotten darker or if my taste in nude lipstick have changed, but I feel like this is just a smidge lighter than I prefer. I can always mix this with a darker neutral lip – kill two birds with one stone, right? There’s actually not a lot left in this lipstick and I will likely finish it by September, so I think I might try to pan another lipstick once this one is finished.

2. Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Paaarty

This little guy is also making a reappearance after being featured in my last Project Pan. To be honest, I am getting a little sick of it, but look how close I am to finishing it! I’m probably going to take a break from this for a bit for the rest of the summer, before continuing to push through and finish it.

3. Urban Decay Naked Palette

This was my very first high end palette, which I purchased right when it was first released. It is old as heck, and up until this year, I still hadn’t hit pan. I mentioned in one of the updates for my first Project Pan that Nicole of Pretty Ruff Life had hit pan on several shades in this palette last year, which inspired me to do the same. I already started seeing baby pan on Naked in April, but my goals for this palette are to:

  • See baby pan on Virgin, Sin, and Buck
  • Pan Naked

4. Oribe Grandiose Hair Plumping Mousse

I’ve already mentioned a few times that I don’t like this hair product. I dislike using products just for the sake of using them up, but this was freaking expensive, so you bet I am going to try finishing it off. On the plus side, it smells pretty darn amazing, so I do look forward to using it for the scent.

5. Batiste Dry Shampoo

I don’t like this dry shampoo – actually, I don’t think I’ve really liked any dry shampoos I’ve ever used, but that’s besides the point. I don’t think I have too much left of this dry shampoo, but I never reach for this. I think that putting it in my Project Pan will help encourage me to use this up.

6. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Pencil Liner in Perversion/Demolition

Yep, this is making a reappearance, too. This dual liner was part of my first Project Pan, and I feel like I’ve gained a little momentum on this product in the last two months so I’m going to keep this in my second Project Pan and finish it off.

7. Becca Back Light Priming Filter

Okay, I think I might be a little crazy putting this into my Project Pan, because it looks like I’ve only finished half of the bottle in the last 12 months. However, I absolutely love this primer and I’m kind of worried this will start to go bad, so I want to get as much use out of it while I can.

8. Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Honeysuckle Body Spray

I bought this in at Orlando back in 2014 which means I’ve owned it for way too long. It’s time I used this baby up! There’s still over 3/4 left, but luckily body sprays don’t last very long on me so I can douse myself in it and still smell unoffensive. I should be able to finish this by the end of the year!

9. 12 Samples

You might think this is a cop-out, but hear me out. I have a drawer full of samples that I never touch, often because I don’t know how to fit them into my routine. For the last half of the year, I’m going to try to use up 12 samples, or 2 per month. It might seem small, but considering how few samples I used up in the first half of the year (a grand total of 5), I feel like this will actually be a challenge. The ones I’m most looking forward to trying are the Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream, the Drunk Elephant C-Tango eye cream, the Sunday Riley Good Genes, the Consonant Hydrexeme – these are all expensive products, so I’m excited to test out the samples before deciding if they’re worth the money!

Here is the weight of each product at the start of this Project Pan:

We’ll see where these end up by the end of the year! Are you trying to pan any products lately? Let me know in the comments!

  1. Great picks for your PP! You’re looking close on some items already, it always feels so satisfying finishing powders especially bronzers and blushes they’re so hard to finish up.
My sister has a couple of the darker shades left in her Naked Palette which I bought for her the first Christmas it was out, it’s a work of art how dedicated she’s been to it (but also her collection isn’t as huge as yours or mine and isn’t a palette whore lol!).
I made my way through all my samples pretty much this year, I’ve held back 6/7 which are a bit larger sized for travel but it felt so nice clearing them out as it’s really ugly clutter in a drawer!

    • YES, it’s SO satisfying seeing a peek of the pan on powder products – I wonder if non-beauty lovers feel like this too, haha.

I’ve had the Naked Palette for as long as your sister! Also bought it around Christmas time the first year it was out. Is she going to finish up the entire palette?! That would be impressive – I always find it tough to use up darker shades.

Good job on using up those samples! A lot of people tend to hoard them, and before you know it, you have an unmanageable amount of samples, LOL.

  2. I love those UD Revolution lipsticks! In fact, I was wearing Sheer Liar today. I don’t find that formula all that sheer – to me, it’s just a cream finish. I love it though.

I’m rooting for you to completely pan that Tarte blush in Paaarty. It will be such an accomplishment!

Wow that UD Naked palette has got to be 8 years old then? I’m still trying to completely pan my UD single in Naked. There’s a ring of product that refuses to be done, nor will they just admit defeat and crumble out of the pan! That stubborn thing! 😛

My little deluxe sample of the Becca Back Light Priming Filter has lasted me no less than 20 applications and I can probably get another 10 more, it’s crazy how little you need. (And thank you again for sending me this! I bet my tube will last 2+ years LOL ❤ )

That EA Green Tea scent is so lovely. I've been wearing my Nectarine Blossom one a lot lately. Do you carry your perfume with you for the day? I never reapply scents through the day but it seems that many people do.

Good idea to target finishing all those samples. I was on track to use up a lot of mine but recently I amassed more samples than I know what to do with! I'm probably going to give them away to friends instead. I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the Consonant Hydrextreme. I finished my little bottle of it last month and I miss it so much but it's pricey at $72 for 10ml. I used it only for my under eye area like a serum and it worked wonders. Now I'm using the Hylamide Subq anti-age (Deciem brand – same company as The Ordinary) and it's not giving me as good results. I'll probably go crawling back to Consonant… the bottle did last me almost a year.

Looking forward to seeing the weights go down on those suckers! 😆

  3. That’s SO many samples!! It’s nice to put them in your project pan, then you’ll be reminded to use them up. I have a little box full of sephora samples, it never seems to end.
I’m surprised to hear that you don’t like Batiste dry shampoo! I always prefer washed hair to dry shampooed hair so I get that, hopefully you’ll be able to use it up quickly and be rid of it. I’m using a dove dry shampoo and it smells amazing but it doesn’t work at all, I can’t wait to use it up and get back to my Batiste lol
That body spray sounds like it would smell amazing! I have a giant bottle of B&BW body spray, I don’t know why but I never use it. I guess I should start again…
Good luck with your project pan, I think all of this is very achievable by the end of the year!

  4. Oooh I like the idea of throwing a whole wack of samples in there – that’s a great idea that I might steal. I’m so bad with forgetting about mine too.
The Naked palette was the first high-end palette I purchased too! As such it will always hold a special place in my heart 😉 but I honestly do think it’s a great palette. Virgin & Sin might be two of my favourite eyeshadows of all time.
Best of luck with your project – it seems very doable!
