Last week, Nicole from Pretty Ruff Life shared a blog post about her most repurchased products, and I thought it was such a great idea. Often, repurchased products tend to be holy grail status – it says a lot when makeup lovers buy the same things over and over again, especially when they’ve tried so many different products. It means that the ones that get repurchased are really top notch! I rarely buy products over and over again, so the fact that I’ve repurchased these means they’re really close to my heart.
Just as a note, I didn’t take my own photos for this blog post because I’m using a lot of new products this year and I don’t currently own a lot of these, but just because I don’t own it right now doesn’t mean I don’t love it or have bought a lot of them over the years. If I’m currently using something else right now, I will make a note of it.
Shiseido Benefiance Creamy Cleansing Foam
My mom has been using this for over a decade, and one day I ran out of face cleanser, so I started using hers. I fell in love instantly and have been using it since, maybe for about six years. This line is meant for more mature skin, but if I’m honest with myself, my age is starting to creep up there now, LOL. I love that it foams like crazy – for whatever reason, I feel like foaming cleansers clean the skin better, even though it’s not true. Foaming cleansers tend to be drying, but I’ve never found this to be stripping of oils even though I have dry skin. I stopped using this for about a year to try the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser (I didn’t like) and the Laneige Multi Cleanser (this was okay), but I just opened up my last backup of the Creamy Cleansing Foam this last week.
Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Intensive Eye Contour Cream
This is another product from the Benefiance line – as you can tell, I’m a big fan! I’ve tried a lot of eye creams, but I keep going back to this one even though it’s so expensive. My eye area gets super dry and crepey when I don’t use eye cream, and this formula is by far the richest and so creamiest texture I’ve ever used. It makes my eye area feel so hydrated and supple, and doesn’t cause milia around the area. I haven’t used this in about a year now – what I’ve been using is the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye Cream (which I absolutely love) and the Clinique Pep-Start (also really good), but I know I will keep buying the Benefiance WrinkleResist.
MAC Cleanse Off Oil
I think I’ve purchased over 20 of these in my lifetime. It’s been my HG makeup remover for the last 10 years, and I more or less used it exclusively during this time. It has a nice subtle scent and thoroughly removes even the most stubborn of eye makeup while still being gentle. When combined with water, it creates a nice milky formula. I finally started branching out and trying other makeup remover this year and have found some pretty good ones (Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm and very recently, the Garnier All-in-One Micellar Water). I’m not sure if I’ll be repurchasing the Cleanse-Off Oil soon as there are still a lot of makeup removers I would like to try, but I would still highly recommend this cleanser for someone wanting to try a new oil cleanser.
Jack Black Moisture Therapy Lip Balm
I’ve also purchased over a dozen of these over the last six years or so. I find it so moisturizing on my lips – it soaks in without just sitting on top of my lips, and on top of that, it contains SPF which is difficult to find in high-performing lift products. It’s not always easy to find a lip balm with a consistency that you like, but the consistency is perfect for me – not too thick or too thin, and doesn’t feel too Vaseline-y. I also love a bunch of the scents it comes in, particularly Black Tea & Blackberry, Lemon, and Grapefruit. As I mentioned in my last Project Pan, I’m on the last leg of my two Jack Black lip balms, and do not have any plans to repurchase in the near future as I’m trying out new brands (Glossier Bomb Dotcom and Rosebud Perfume Co.), but that doesn’t change the fact that these are a favourite.
Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper
I’ve repurchased about eight of these in the last few years – It has a huge following in the beauty community, and for good reason. I love how dark black the liner is, how sharp the applicator is, and how easy it is to create a wing. The last time I used one of these was in April, and I’ve been using the Pupa Vamp liner since (I wouldn’t repurchase this again). As much as I like the Tattoo Liner, I’m always on a search for a better eyeliner, and Nova from Super Nova Beauty mentioned that she likes the Kat Von D Ink Liner better. I’ll be purchasing that one in the next VIB sale!
Revlon Equave 2-Phase Hydro Nutritive Conditioner
I’ve used this for YEARS – I have literally bought several dozens of these in my lifetime. I still use conditioner, but use this more as a detangler and extra moisturizer for the hair. Strangely enough, you can’t buy this at the drugstore even though it’s a Revlon product – I’ve only ever seen it at salons. In the last year, I used the AG Conditioning Mist (nothing special, would not recommend) and the Bumble & Bumble Invisible Oil Heat & UV Protective Primer (which I absolutely love), but this one is a long-time favourite and is less expensive than the Bumble & Bumble, and I can’t not mention it.
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
To be fair, it’s not like I’ve purchased a TON of these, but I tend to try new products and rarely go back to the same base makeup over and over again. The fact that I’ve repurchased this four times says quite a lot. The Radiant Creamy Concealer is a really good all-purpose concealer, and it has medium coverage that can be built up to full coverage. While I find that some concealers are good for under the eyes, and others are good for covering hyperpigmentation, this one is good for both. Right now, I’m using the Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Creme which is awesome for hyperpigmentation but not the under eye area. It might be a while until I go back to the Radiant Creamy Concealer as there are a few more brands I would like to try, but I will eventually go back to this concealer.
That’s it for the products I’ve repurchased the most! Do you tend to buy the same products over and over again, or do you switch them up all the time?
