My Most Repurchased Beauty Products

Last week, Nicole from Pretty Ruff Life shared a blog post about her most repurchased products, and I thought it was such a great idea. Often, repurchased products tend to be holy grail status – it says a lot when makeup lovers buy the same things over and over again, especially when they’ve tried so many different products. It means that the ones that get repurchased are really top notch! I rarely buy products over and over again, so the fact that I’ve repurchased these means they’re really close to my heart.

Just as a note, I didn’t take my own photos for this blog post because I’m using a lot of new products this year and I don’t currently own a lot of these, but just because I don’t own it right now doesn’t mean I don’t love it or have bought a lot of them over the years. If I’m currently using something else right now, I will make a note of it.

Shiseido Benefiance Creamy Cleansing Foam

My mom has been using this for over a decade, and one day I ran out of face cleanser, so I started using hers. I fell in love instantly and have been using it since, maybe for about six years. This line is meant for more mature skin, but if I’m honest with myself, my age is starting to creep up there now, LOL. I love that it foams like crazy – for whatever reason, I feel like foaming cleansers clean the skin better, even though it’s not true. Foaming cleansers tend to be drying, but I’ve never found this to be stripping of oils even though I have dry skin. I stopped using this for about a year to try the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser (I didn’t like) and the Laneige Multi Cleanser (this was okay), but I just opened up my last backup of the Creamy Cleansing Foam this last week.

Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Intensive Eye Contour Cream

This is another product from the Benefiance line – as you can tell, I’m a big fan! I’ve tried a lot of eye creams, but I keep going back to this one even though it’s so expensive. My eye area gets super dry and crepey when I don’t use eye cream, and this formula is by far the richest and so creamiest texture I’ve ever used. It makes my eye area feel so hydrated and supple, and doesn’t cause milia around the area. I haven’t used this in about a year now – what I’ve been using is the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye Cream (which I absolutely love) and the Clinique Pep-Start (also really good), but I know I will keep buying the Benefiance WrinkleResist.

MAC Cleanse Off Oil

I think I’ve purchased over 20 of these in my lifetime. It’s been my HG makeup remover for the last 10 years, and I more or less used it exclusively during this time. It has a nice subtle scent and thoroughly removes even the most stubborn of eye makeup while still being gentle. When combined with water, it creates a nice milky formula. I finally started branching out and trying other makeup remover this year and have found some pretty good ones (Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm and very recently, the Garnier All-in-One Micellar Water). I’m not sure if I’ll be repurchasing the Cleanse-Off Oil soon as there are still a lot of makeup removers I would like to try, but I would still highly recommend this cleanser for someone wanting to try a new oil cleanser.

Jack Black Moisture Therapy Lip Balm

I’ve also purchased over a dozen of these over the last six years or so. I find it so moisturizing on my lips – it soaks in without just sitting on top of my lips, and on top of that, it contains SPF which is difficult to find in high-performing lift products. It’s not always easy to find a lip balm with a consistency that you like, but the consistency is perfect for me – not too thick or too thin, and doesn’t feel too Vaseline-y. I also love a bunch of the scents it comes in, particularly Black Tea & Blackberry, Lemon, and Grapefruit. As I mentioned in my last Project Pan, I’m on the last leg of my two Jack Black lip balms, and do not have any plans to repurchase in the near future as I’m trying out new brands (Glossier Bomb Dotcom and Rosebud Perfume Co.), but that doesn’t change the fact that these are a favourite.

Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper

I’ve repurchased about eight of these in the last few years – It has a huge following in the beauty community, and for good reason. I love how dark black the liner is, how sharp the applicator is, and how easy it is to create a wing. The last time I used one of these was in April, and I’ve been using the Pupa Vamp liner since (I wouldn’t repurchase this again).  As much as I like the Tattoo Liner, I’m always on a search for a better eyeliner, and Nova from Super Nova Beauty mentioned that she likes the Kat Von D Ink Liner better. I’ll be purchasing that one in the next VIB sale!

Revlon Equave 2-Phase Hydro Nutritive Conditioner

I’ve used this for YEARS – I have literally bought several dozens of these in my lifetime. I still use conditioner, but use this more as a detangler and extra moisturizer for the hair. Strangely enough, you can’t buy this at the drugstore even though it’s a Revlon product – I’ve only ever seen it at salons. In the last year, I used the AG Conditioning Mist (nothing special, would not recommend) and the Bumble & Bumble Invisible Oil Heat & UV Protective Primer (which I absolutely love), but this one is a long-time favourite and is less expensive than the Bumble & Bumble, and I can’t not mention it.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer

To be fair, it’s not like I’ve purchased a TON of these, but I tend to try new products and rarely go back to the same base makeup over and over again. The fact that I’ve repurchased this four times says quite a lot. The Radiant Creamy Concealer is a really good all-purpose concealer, and it has medium coverage that can be built up to full coverage. While I find that some concealers are good for under the eyes, and others are good for covering hyperpigmentation, this one is good for both. Right now, I’m using the Kat Von D Lock-It Concealer Creme which is awesome for hyperpigmentation but not the under eye area. It might be a while until I go back to the Radiant Creamy Concealer as there are a few more brands I would like to try, but I will eventually go back to this concealer.

That’s it for the products I’ve repurchased the most! Do you tend to buy the same products over and over again, or do you switch them up all the time?

  1. I can definitely agree with the JB Moisture Therapy! Although surprisingly, the Black tea scent makes me sick to my stomach when I smell it, which is so weird! So I stick with the Shea one 🙂 You so boujee with those Shiseido products! As always, I’m tempted by the eye cream but that Kiehl’s one is on its way to me now 🙂

    • That IS really weird that the black tea scent makes you feel sick! Too bad.
Shiseido has a reputation for being boujee but I don’t know why! Well, they do have lines within the brand that are expensive, but the Benefiance line is not bad – somewhere along the lines of Fresh or Origins! The Shiseido eye cream and the Kiehl’s are definitely in my top 3 eye creams!

  2. I’m very intrigued by that Shiseido eye cream – there haven’t been many eye creams that I’ve found worth investing in. Do you use it in the morning or at night or both?
FYI I loved the Kat von D liner too but I’ve found a cheaper and better (IMO) alternative in the NYX Epic Ink eyeliner. It stays put all day and is super black – I absolutely love it and it’s like half the price of the KVD. Plus you’re not supporting an anti-vaxer lol

    • I use the Shiseido eye cream for both day and night!
Okay, where did you find the NYX Epic Ink liner? I heard Jessica Braun (I think) raving about it on YouTube a while back but I haven’t been able to find it at Shoppers. They opened that NYX store at Chinook, I was going to check there but keep forgetting. And good point about not supporting an anti-vaxxer, lol.

  3. A few items here are definitely ones I pick up over and over again too! I have a few bottles of the Shiseido cleansing foam and the eye cream in my collection. They are both in deluxe or mini sample sizes because I tend to buy Shiseido items in the gift sets because it is pricey. But they are amazing!
I also repurchase the KVD tattoo liner all the time. I have it in trooper and mad Max (brown) because I like it that much!

I tried other concealers but a few months ago I repurchased the Nars Radiant Concealer. That and the Maybelline Fit me are my faves. Although I did end up getting another tube of Shape tape concealer too.

You should do a top 5 of items you’d never repurchase!

    • YES, I absolutely pick up Shiseido when they have the gift sets or when they have the Gift with Purchase perks at places like The Bay! I’m glad to hear you like the cleanser and the eye cream, too!

I’ve heard so many people rave about the Maybelline Fit Me but I STILL haven’t tried it. For shame!

Oooh, that’s such a good idea for a blog post. Thanks for the idea!

  4. This is an interesting topic! In this world of “new” and “improved” it’s always telling when we keep going back to the tried and true products.
I have a couple in common with your list:
    • Shiseido Benefiance Creamy Cleansing Foam
    • Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Intensive Eye Contour Cream

And these are my other most repurchased items:
    • Shiseido Bio-Performance Advanced Super Revitalizing Cream
    • Clinique Dramatically Different Lotion
    • Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye cream
    • Physicians Formula Eye Booster liner
    • Maybelline Eraser concealer
    • CoverGirl LashBlast Volume mascara
    • CoverGirl Clump Crusher mascara
    • Curl Keeper Original

And yes, the majority of these are HG status for me! 😀 Let’s all cross our fingers none of them get discontinued…

    • Hehe, I know you’re a big Shiseido fan, too! Which reminds me, another thing I forgot to add on my list – the crack cotton 😂 I just started using the Muji ones you sent me and theyr’e SO GOOD. Guess who’s packing a suitcase full of cotton pads back from Japan? 😂

I’ve only ever used that one tube of Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery eye cream that you sent me, but I know it will become a constant repurchase for me – it’s so good! Everyone seems to love the CG mascaras but I just can’t get along with them. I think my eyelashes are broken…

      • Yesss I forgot about the Shiseido crack cotton! I’m glad you’re enjoying the Muji ones! The Shiseido ones are ever so slightly softer but not really noticeable in a blind test. The Muji ones are so much cheaper!
Another item I forgot is my trusty Shu Uemura brow pencil! I’ve bought that thing 4 or 5 times.

        Liked by 1 person

        • I actually saved my last Shiseido cotton to compare with the Muji once I opened the package up, and you’re right – the Shiseido is ever so slightly softer, but if you just gave me one and asked me to guess if it was Shiseido or Muji, I wouldn’t be able to tell.
Yes, I totally remember you talking about the Shu Uemura brow pencil! I find that good brow products are hard to come by, so when you find a good one, you stick to it!
