The Makeup Wishlist Tag

Hi everyone! Today’s post is a tag on all the goodies currently on my beauty wish list. I took this tag from Nova of Super Nova Beauty and Cleia of Always Cleia, who shared their wishlist a few weeks back – please check out their posts as well!

1. What is the very next makeup item you’re planning on buying?

I’m going on a no-buy in October because I’ve spent too much money, and because November will be heavy on purchases. I won’t be buying anything until the November VIB sale, so I don’t have any firm plans yet. I always have products on my list that I say I will buy next, but then I end up keeping it on my wish list for years. I will very likely buy another Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick. I purchased the shade Chutney in August and fell in love with the formula, so I would like to own a few more shades in this range. I also really want to try the Laneige Kiss and Make Up set which comes with all the limited edition scents! I’ve been wanting to try them since they announced they were coming out with the limited edition scents; however, I don’t need 4 lip masks so that’s something to think about. Otherwise, the Laura Mercier Shadows & Brights Metallic Cavier Stick set is also high on my list.

2. If you could walk into Sephora TODAY and buy any one item (regardless of budget), what would it be?

This one is hard, there are a lot of things I would want to buy with an unlimited budget! I’ve mean meaning to try Charlotte Tilbury for a few years now, but the brand is hard to get a hold of in Calgary. Now that they’re at Sephora, I’d perhaps like to try something like the Dolce Vita Look set (or any of the similar sets, to be honest) if I had an unlimited budget, because it costs a whopping $275 and you get to try a bunch of their products!

3. What is the oldest item on your Sephora Loves List?

My Loves List is a pretty meaningless mess of a list – it’s a combination of products I actually love as well as products that I want, although it’s not a comprehensive or updated list because I usually just keep a mental list in my head. Either way, the oldest item on my list is the Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder.

4. What is the newest item on your Sephora Loves List?

The newest product on my Loves List is a wishlist item rather than an actual product I love. It’s the Herbivore Balance & Clarify Natural Skincare Set, which caught my eye as I was browsing the Sephora website last week. It must be a new release because it wasn’t on the website during the last sale. All of the products are ones I’ve wanted to try from the brand!

5. What Perfume is on the top of your wishlist?

Jo Malone Earl Grey and Cucumber Cologne! I’m not in the market for a perfume right now and I probably won’t be buying one for a while, but when I do, I think I’m going to treat myself to this one.

6. What is the new release you’re looking most forward to?

I am totally not on top of new releases right now because there’s just SO MUCH of it, especially since holiday releases have started to come out. When I get overwhelmed, I just tune it all out. The highlighting palette and some of the lip products from the NARS holiday collection looks seriously pretty, though!

7. Are there any drugstore products you want but haven’t yet pulled the trigger on?

I’ve been wanting the L’Oreal Lumi Glotion ever since it came out but I still have half a bottle of the Becca Back Light primer, so I haven’t pulled the trigger on the Lumi Glotion yet. I’ve also always wanted to try the NYX Butter Glosses and the Bourjois Healthy Glow Foundation.

8. The eyeshadow palette you’re lusting over the most.

I don’t know why, but I get sucked into Too Faced holiday palettes every freaking year. I’ve ended up decluttering all of them, and was actually doing pretty well in not buying any Too Faced holiday palettes for the last two years, but now I want that dang Gingerbread Spice Palette. Someone talk me out of it!

9. Product you’re waiting for your next birthday/Christmas to ask for.

I tend to put things on my wishlist that are things I shouldn’t own, but want it anyways. It makes me feel better when I didn’t spend my own money on a product that I didn’t need, you know? The Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam palette is high on that list! I’m also going to ask for the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Mini Macaron set, even though I don’t need another freaking highlighter!

10. What is the item that you’re dying to have that is not available in your country/area?

SO. MANY. I’ve especially realized from travelling how many brands aren’t available here that I would love to get my hands on. I bought a few Kiko products on our honeymoon last year and I really want to try more – I wish they were readily accessible here. I’ve always wanted to try Lorac products, as well as Tarte Shape Tape, which I can only get if I travel to the US. Shape Tape is available online, but I find it difficult to colour match base products online. I also would love to have access to a wider range of Wet n Wild products that are available in the US but not here. Also, if I end up enjoying any of the things I purchased in my Japan haul, I would want to be able to repurchase them in Canada.

11. What is the thing that you really want but you’ll never buy because its “too expensive”?

I would have to agree with Cleia on her pick, which is the T3 Hair Dryer. I don’t know why, but my hair takes forever to dry even though it’s not particularly thick or curly or anything like that. I would love something that dries my hair in a fraction of the time. Another one is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked palette. When a new one gets released every Christmas I tell myself I’m going to buy it, but then I hold off and tell myself that I’ll buy next year’s because I have the Ambient Lighting Palette that looks barely-used.

12. If there was a beauty product Genie who could grant you one wish, what would you wish for?

This goes back to  the previous question about getting items not available in your country. I would love the ability to buy any brand of makeup at any time! In Canada, it’s sometimes difficult to get your hands on certain brands. I would love to be able to buy something from any brand at any given time!

That’s it for today. I tag anyone who wants to do this tag – I would love to see what’s on your beauty wish list!

  1. I love the idea of sharing you wishlist, but I just know my would never end hahaha 😀 I would love to try a Jo Malone perfume one day, their descriptions sounds so good but I have yet to smell them. The Lumilotions by L’Oreal are totally on my radar and I feel I just have to get one 🙂

    • I know – a beauty lover’s wishlist just keeps getting longer and longer!

Do you have a Jo Malone close by? It’s definitely better to be able to smell them before purchasing, since their products are pricier!

Yes, the L’Oreal Glotions are too pretty! I like that they have a few shades to choose from instead of just one general shade that is supposed to fit everyone but will only really work for fair-skinned gals.

  2. You have now reminded me of those Bite liquified lipsticks! I got a sample of Chutney last year and I loved it! I also kind of want that Laneige sleeping mask set even though I think I have tried talking you out of that mask in the past… haha. I have been using my original one every night lately and I guess it does do a pretty good job, but I still don’t think it’s remarkably better than any other lip balm like the Jack Black one that we like. It is taking me 100 years to finish it though, so at least you get a lot of product. I want those other scents though…

At first sight I was totally in love with the Gingerbread palette too, but I really don’t think we need it. How tempted are you going to be to use a gingerbread palette the rest of the year? Although the shades inside do work for year-round. Regardless, I’m pretty sure I’ve talked myself out of it at this point.

    • I know, I keep remembering that you don’t like the Laneige lip mask, but I also keep wanting to have it. The “limited edition, new” flavours really make it hard to resist, haha.

That’s a good point about probably not wanting to use a gingerbread palette for the rest of the year. Actually, I feel like I have that problem with a lot of the Too Faced holiday palettes, and they’re not even always “holiday dessert” related. I’m glad to hear you’ve talked yourself out of buying it, that money can probably go towards another great palette!

      • Haha it’s not that I don’t like the lip mask, it just doesn’t seem worth it. It’s good, it is, but not exceptional! And still I want the other scents…. god damn my addictive personality lol

  3. Ooh this is a fun one – definitely adding this to my list of upcoming posts.

I swear I’m the only person who doesn’t like that Laniege lip mask. It did the opposite of what it’s supposed to and dried out my lips? Annoying.

You and I have much of the same taste – I have the Too Faced Gingerbread palette, Becca Macaron Set, and anything from Charlotte Tillbury on my list too! And of course Soft Glam – it’s also on my Xmas/B-Day list! #twinsies 😉
