Hello, everyone! Instead of doing a Project Pan this year, I decided to choose a set of products to focus for a single month, and change them up each month so that I don’t get bored. The point isn’t to pan any of these products (although that would be a bonus!), but just to rotate through my products so I get use out of everything I own. Today, I’m talking about the items I am focusing on using for April, and what I thought about the products I chose for March!
I seriously enjoyed using all of my products this month, everything went really well together! Thanks to this project, I got to rediscover how good the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette is, which was gifted to me by Robyn of Lipstick on the Lake when she did a giveaway a few years back. I feel like lately I’ve been using really red-based neutral palettes that are borderline too crazy for work, and switching to this cool-toned, perfectly wearable palette was such a nice change. Since the Naked 2 doesn’t have a matte brown, I added Embark from my MAC customized palette into my makeup focus, and it worked out really well. Because I often forget about my singles, I also added the Stila Shimmer & Glow liquid eyeshadow in Grace, and the shade was a perfect fit with the Naked 2 palette. I feel like I wasn’t able to get as much product out of the tube by the end of the month, which means it’s either starting to dry out, or I’m starting to near the end of this. Hopefully it’s the latter!
For the face, I chose to focus on the Glossier Cloud Paint in the shade Storm, which is a deep plum. I have to say, this was the one product I got a little tired of using by the end of the month, but not because it isn’t beautiful or that I don’t like the formula. The weather just got so nice midway through the month that I just really wanted to wear a pink or coral blush instead of this plum. I do have to say that it went perfectly with the highlighter I chose, though, which was the Makeup Geek highlighter in Lit. The cool-toned pinky-white duochrome was perfection with both the Naked 2 palette and with Glossier Storm! ColourPop’s Lippie Stix in Lumiere really completed the look; it reminded me of how much I love this cool mauve shade. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette was the perfect finish to my range of face products – I was experiencing dry skin at the end of the month, and Hourglass’ finishing powders never looked cakey on me.
In terms of skincare, I really thought I would finish up the Herbivore Pink Cloud Rosewater Moisture Crème this month, but I think I actually have another month of use left. I stowed it away for the winter, but spring is the perfect time to bring it back out, and I forgot how much I loved it! I actually kept forgetting that the Herbivore Blue Tansy Mask was part of my makeup focus, and I think I only used it twice. I was hoping to completely finish the jar by the end of the month, but I think I have 2-3 uses left.
Now that lat month’s products are out of the way, let’s move on to the products I’m focusing on in April!
Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette
For the last few months, I’ve been eagerly anticipating bringing this out for spring! I mean, it’s just another palette full of neutrals so technically it works for any season of the year, but this palette just screams spring to me. I haven’t touched this palette in a while, so I’m very excited to start using it again.
ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Nillionaire
As I’ve mentioned previously, I’m trying to fit in some of my singles in my makeup focus projects. For some reason, I’ve been itching to use this particular Super Shock Shadow for the past month, and I thought this shade might go perfectly with the Sweet Peach Palette.
Physician’s Formula Spotlight Illuminating Primer
Although I purchased this at the beginning of the year, I’ve only used this a handful of times so far. I would really want to do a comparison post with the Becca Backlight Priming Filter soon, so I need to make better use of it this month in order to test it out properly!
Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso
As soon as April comes, I want to bring out all the peaches! The Milani Baked Blush in the shade Luminoso is one of my all-time favourite blushes that I own, and also one of the cheapest! I have used this SO many times and I don’t know how it still looks so perfect, but I’ll take it!
Becca x Sananas Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Parisian Lights
Whenever I use this highlighter, I dip my brush into it SO lightly as so as not to ruin the beautiful pattern on the top. Part of me really wants to keep this pristine, but another larger part of me wants to use this because the shade is so beautiful. I deided to choose it to use in April because the peachy-golden shade is perfect to go with the Sweet Peach palette and the Luminoso blush!
Bobbi Brown Crushed Liquid Lipstick in Give a Fig
I only just purchased this lipstick in March, but I haven’t really had the chance to wear it yet, so I’m using April to test it out. The Sephora website describes this as a dusty red rose, but I don’t find that it’s dusty at all. It pulls a bit orangey/peachy on me, so I think this will go well with the other products I picked out for the month!
The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 23% + HA Spheres 2%
I’ve always been the type of gal to only one of each type of skincare product (one serum, one moisturizer, one AHA, etc.) and only replace it with a new one when I use the old one all up, but I’ve found in the last year I keep opening several of the same skincare product from different brands at the same time. I’m at the tail end of this, and just need to use this up so I can move on!!
That’s it for today! Are there any products you’re hoping to finish off soon?
Do you like The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension then? I can’t remember if you have previously talked about this product or not.
This is a wonderful idea for a post but good idea in general. Spring is nowhere near for us. It was feeling like Spring last week as the sun came out and I could actually take my sunglasses out. This week, the temperature has dropped and we’re even forecasted snow! Yesterday we had hailstones, borderline snow so it’s been very crazy and needless to say, I just want it to be Spring. Apparently it’s too much to ask for though.
I haven’t been wearing much makeup lately since coming back from Hong Kong. (I realised how in HK, I wore makeup everyday without fail whereas over here, I kinda don’t care if I do/don’t.) I do need to clear some things though so maybe it’s time for me to conduct a project pan, haha.

Long story short, I enjoy its effects but I wouldn’t buy it again. It literally burned my skin the first time I used it and it took two weeks to heal. Has been okay since, but the texture is gritty. My review is here: https://polishedandinspired.wordpress.com/2018/09/18/6-month-update-my-experience-with-the-ordinary-products-part-1/
Ugh spring weather is always crazy! After getting nice weather in March, it has gone back to be crappy this month. Hopefully it’ll come to both of us soon!
It’s so satisfying to do a Project Pan and use products from your stash up!

That sweet peach palette looks perfect for Spring! I’m finally starting to feel ready for more peachy and pink tones in my makeup, I guess the snow melting has helped.
I love how the products you chose go together so well. That’s a beautiful Lipstick shade

I think this is such a great idea! To rotate your products every month to give everything a bit of love. I think I may do this too!

Thanks, Erica! It’s also a nice alternative to a Project Pan if you get bored of products easily 🙂
