My 10 Sephora Spring Sale Recommendations

Hello, loves! On Tuesday, I shared a blog post all about the products on my wish list for the upcoming Sephora sale, and today I’m sharing my recommendations for you! I did a post of my recommendations last year, which you can check out here, but this time I have chosen completely different products! Read on to see what I recommend.

MAKEUP

Urban-Decay-Naked-Skin-Foundation.jpg

Urban Decay Naked Skin Ultra Definition Liquid Makeup – $50

I recently picked up another bottle of this recently when it was part of a Weekly Wow sale, and it reminded me how much I love the formula of this foundation. It has a thin, watery consistency that feels and looks so natural on the skin. Highly recommended to anyone who is looking for a light-coverage foundation! I have a review of this foundation from 2017 up here.

Tarte-Chrome-Paint-Shadow-Pot

Tarte Chrome Paint Shadow Pots – $27

These Tarte Chrome Paint Shadow Pots wow me every time I use them – it’s almost like I forget how metallic and pigmented they are until I use them again! These have a strong foiled finish that is so pretty on the eyelids, and they last all day. If you’re interested, my review of this product is up here.

Hourglass-Scattered-Light-Eyeshadow

Hourglass Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadow – $38

If you are going to treat yourself to something expensive, do it during the VIB sale. I recommend this Hourglass cream shadow because I get compliments on my eye makeup every single time I wear it. These Scattered Light shadows do have glitter in it which could be off-putting for a lot of people (myself included), but the glitter is so finely milled that it just gives your lids an almost wet, glossy look, and I’ve never experienced any fallout with it. Honestly, if I didn’t have so many eyeshadows to work through at the moment, I would pick another one of these up during the sale.

Bobbi Brown Crushed Liquid Lipstick – $34

This liquid lipstick is a fairly new product compared to the rest of the items in my recommendations, as it was released at the beginning of the year. For those of you who hate traditional matte liquid lipsticks (ie me), this is a great alternative. These have a thin consistency and feel a bit like a balm to me, yet they have the pigmentation of a regular bullet lipstick. They have a hydrating formula and sit very comfortably on the lips. I only own one of these lipsticks and totally wish I could buy more during the sale; unfortunately, I’ve put myself on a one-in-one-out policy! However, I would highly recommend these to you guys.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette – $74

I didn’t mean to feature TWO Hourglass products in my post, but here we are. This is such a good face palette if you’re looking for high-quality finishing powders. I have dry skin so I usually avoid powders, but this never clings to dry patches, and really makes my skin look perfected with a soft, barely there glow. My favourite is Dim Light (left), which has a satin finish and I use all year round, but Incandescent Light and Radiant Light are also beautiful – I love Radiant Light (right) in the summertime when I have a bit of a tan!

SKINCARE

Laneige-Lip-Sleeping-Mask.jpg

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask – $24

This is the perfect hydrating lip mask for the evening; not too thick, but not thin and greasy either. I’ve been using a mini of this that came in a limited edition set of Laneige lip masks, and it’s lasted me over 4 months!

Farmacy-Green-Clean-Meltaway-Cleansing-Balm

Farmacy Green Clean Meltaway Cleansing Balm – $44

This is such a solid cleansing balm, removes everything in a gentle way and smells nice and fresh. I have a review of this product up here. I’m actually picking up another one of these during the sale!

Farmacy-Honeymoon-Glow.jpg

Farmacy Honeymoon Glow – $77

I’ve been using this regularly for the last month or so, and my skin absolutely LOVES this AHA. I use this twice a week at night, and the next morning, I wake up with the smoothest and softest skin. It’s a 14% AHA/BHA blend which is on the stronger side, but it doesn’t sting when I apply this on my face. A review of this will be up soon!

Shiseido-Benefiance-WrinkleResist24-Eye-Cream.jpg

Shiseido WrinkleResist24 Contour Eye Cream – $73

I just restocked this product because my eye area desperately needed some TLC, and I don’t even know how many jars of this I’ve gone through. Huge recommendation if your eye area is chronically dry – this is by far the richest and most hydrating eye cream I’ve ever used. An expensive little bugger, but a reliable constant in my skincare routine.

HAIRCARE

I am not a hair person at all…while I love doing my makeup, my motto with hair is that the less time I spend on doing my hair, the better. However, I do have a few hair products I really enjoy.

20190421_130757-01-01

IGK Beach Club Texture Spray – $35

I do not curl my hair without this product, because it gives my hair so much texture without making it feel crunchy and hard. When I don’t use this, my curls tend to clump together into one big curl throughout the day, and it isn’t a cute look. This texture spray helps to keep the curls separated and piecey looking, which creates that beachy look.

That’s it, my friends! What are your recommendations for the sale? I love hearing about other people’s favourites!

  1. I loved your picutures in this post! I’ve never heard of that hourglass product before but I’m going to have to check them out next time I’m at a counter, they look divine! I’m really curious about the Bobbi Brown liquid lips as I love their crushed colour normal lippie formula!

    • Thanks, Rachael! Yes, you absolutely have to swatch the Hourglass products in person, they are beautiful! After trying the Bobbi Brown liquid lipsticks, now I want to go back and try the ones in bullet form. The liquid lipsticks have a very comfortable formula, I think you would like them!

  2. Those sparkly eye products are gorgeous! I don’t really wear powder but if I did I can definitely see the appeal of the Hourglass ones, they look luxurious and really finely milled.

  3. I have been thinking to try the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask now that they have more flavours. I wasn’t keen on the original scent. Which one is your favourite?

How long do you find that a tube of the Farmacy Green Clean lasts you? I still haven’t gotten it because of the backlog of cleansers I have… I’m trying to be GOOD!

Wow, the Honeymoon Glow has 14% AHA/BHA? Sign me up!

And yasss Shiseido eye cream is the ultimate holy grail. A pot lasts such a long time and I honestly think the price is justified. If you’re ever feeling spendy, try the Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Pure Retinol Express Smoothing Eye Mask. It’s $80 for 12 single use masks but those things WORK. I was wanting to buy it during the sale but it’s been out of stock on Sephora for ages.

I’m so conflicted about this sale. I do not have any “NEED” products at all. I have a handful of “WANT” but they’re just lukewarm wants… And I was able to finally get my hands on the VIB $100 giftcards that I redeemed points for so I have that money waiting to be used. BUT I’m glad that Sephora bumped up the discount to 20% in this sale for Rouge peeps so we didn’t have to wait for the Fall sale! I have a few categories of things to maybe get:

    – Loose powder for under eyes: thinking about the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores or the Becca Hydra-Mist or just go back to Laura Mercier Secret Brightening

    – Foundation: still eyeing that Armani Luminous Silk HARD! Also thinking about Nars Sheer Glow. But I’ve been having such good luck with drugstore foundations that I don’t see the point of shelling out big bucks for higher end. My new favourite is the L’Oreal Fresh Wear – the coverage is perfectly medium and doesn’t look cakey at all. It wears so beautifully through the day and the shade match in 425 Linen is perfection. By the way, I have worn the UD Naked Skin and it feels kind of drying on my skin – at the end of the day my skin feels really tight. The finish is natural skin-like and it lasts well all day on the skin. And the shade #2 matches perfectly for me (it did oxidize a bit on my skin so I’m glad I went a bit lighter). I’m going to try it again when the weather gets hot and I’m more oily. #minireview 😉

    – Concealer: the eternal search! For some reason my old tried and true concealers aren’t cutting it for me anymore. They are looking dry, not enough coverage and I’m having a hard time with shade matches – maybe my tastes have changed? Or my skin? The only concealer I like now is the MAC Pro Longwear mainly because the colour match is spot-on and it lasts all day. I’m toying with trying the Too Faced Born This Way Sculpting one. I’m no longer wanting to try the Nars Soft Matte simply because it won’t be good for the under eye area. Maybe I should go back to Nars Radiant Creamy now that they expanded the shade range. I know you were

And that’s it. No eye shadows, no blushes, no lipsticks… at one point I thought I wanted a Pat McGrath 10-pan eye shadow palette (the Mothership V Bronze Seduction) but who am I kidding, I’m not much of a fan of glitter for my eyes.

The sale is live for me now and so far I’ve only placed an order for my friends. Decisions decisions…

    • My favourites are the Grapefruit and the Apple Lime scents. Totally agreed, I’m not a fan of the original scent either, and it was the biggest one in the set I bought, haha! I wish they made the lip sleeping masks in smaller sizes and charged less for them – the regular sizes are like the size of a face cream?!

The Farmacy Green Clean lasted me 10 months! But you know I use up products super slowly, so maybe it’s about 5-6 months for a normal person, LOL. And yes, the Honeymoon Glow is 14%, and for some reason I find it more effective than The Ordinary’s 30% AHA Peeling Solution? Maybe because that one is a mask and this one is a stay-on serum…

$80 for 12 single-use eye masks?! That is indeed fancy! But I trust your taste and am putting it on my list of things to try eventually!

Have you ended up buying anything yet? The sale would be a good time to use the VIB gift card because then you could get more bang for your buck out of it…unless they don’t let you use it during the sale. Honestly, it’s okay to not go crazy during the sale. Taking advantage of a discount still means that you are spending money!

I’d be interested to hear what you think about the Becca Hydra-Mist! I’ve heard such polarizing opinions about it.

The Armani Luminous Silk foundation is so beautiful! I asked for a sample of it last year along with the YSL Touche Eclat foundation, and they both felt really nice on the skin. From what I remember, the Luminous Silk was less watery than the Touche Eclat. I’m sorry to hear the UD Naked Skin dried your skin out! So weird that it doesn’t do that to my already-dry skin. I’m glad it was the perfect colour match though, and fingers crossed that it works better for you in the summer!

You know what, I ended up going back to the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer…there wasn’t any other concealer that jumped out at me, although I am intrigued about the TF Born This Way concealer too. I didn’t love the foundation though, so if the formula is similar, I don’t know if I would like the concealer.

  4. I really need to try those Tarte Chrome Paint Shadow Pots! I love the two shades you own. They look so workable. I do have the Laneige Sleeping Mask (pink one) on my wish list too. Great recommendations! 🙂
