Hello, friends! Today I’m doing an update on my makeup focus for the month of May, as well as what products I’m choosing to focus on in June.
I thoroughly enjoyed using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette this month. I bought it during Christmas time, and I never really reached for it that often. The two singles I chose to pair with it, MAC’s Woodwinked and ColourPop’s Super Shock Shadow in Nillionaire, were bronzey shades and paired absolutely perfectly with this palette. I actually think I liked wearing these two shades with the palette more than I enjoyed the lid shades inside the palette! The highlighter I chose was originally the ColourPop Super Shock in Flexitarian, one of my top 3 highlighters. However, after the first day of using it, I switched it out for the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal. I have other plans for Flexitarian later this year, and Becca is also in my top 3, so it worked out just fine. I own so many highlighters that it had been a while since I used it, and seriously loved pulling out this highlighter again, it is stunning! The Surratt Artistique Blush in La Vie en Rose is another stunner I hadn’t used in a while. The powder is just so pigmented and finely milled! I really want to try an orange or peach from Surratt Beauty now. The lipstick I chose this month was the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick in Jicama. It’s not a super springy shade, but it went really well with the ABH palette.
In terms of skincare, I chose the The Ordinary Vitamin C Suspension 30% + HA Spheres 2%. I finished this vitamin C this month! I’ve reviewed it on my blog in the past and said that I enjoyed the effects but didn’t like the graininess of the formula. I already have my eye on a few other Vitamin C serums from The Ordinary and am looking forward to trying them! I also chose to focus on the IGK Beach Club Texture Spray this month, but to be honest, I only used it once this month. I was too lazy to wake up earlier on a work day to curl my hair – oops! I will definitely use this up this summer, though.
For June, I have decided that this month is going to be the month of Tarte for me. I have a bunch of Tarte products I haven’t touched in a while, and I’ve been itching to pull them out!
Tarte Tartelette in Bloom Palette
I’ve only owned this palette for a year, and I’ve pretty much only ever used it when I traveled. However, this palette is absolutely beautiful, and perfect for every day wear. I haven’t used it since November, so I’m really looking forward to creating looks with this palette this month.
Tarte Chrome Paint Shadow Pot in Sundrenched
I do use this eyeshadow every so often, but like most single palettes, I don’t pull it out as much as I want to. I decided to focus on it in June because I think this golden bronze will go perfectly with the shades in the Tartelette in Bloom palette.
Tarte Amazonian Clay Paaarty Blush
I featured this blush heavily on my blog in 2018 because it was in my Project Pan. There is a TEENSY bit clinging for dear life onto the sides, and I have been dying to completely finish it up. After taking half a year off from using this blush, I’m ready to get back into it! I’m being super optimistic and hoping this will only take me a week or two, but if you’ve ever tried to pan a blush, you know they are deceptively difficult to finish!
Teeez Blush Be Blushious Blush in Very Rouge
I have a feeling (or at least I hope) that it won’t take me all month to finish the Tarte blush, so this is my second option when it runs out. This is the prettiest shimmery coral-pink, and I pull it out to use every summer!
Tarte Pro Glow Highlight and Contour Palette
I actually use the contour shades regularly, but the highlighters get neglected. I am sooo excited to use this face palette this month, because it means I get to use 4 different shades of highlighter instead of just the one!
Becca Lip Glow Gloss in Tigerlily
This is a very new addition to my makeup collection that I purchased during Sephora’s summer sale, and I’ve been looking forward to testing it out. I chose it because I think the tangerine shade will go perfectly with the golden tones of the eyeshadows and highlighters and the bright blushes. It’s also such a happy shade for summer!
That’s it for my June focus items! What products are you trying to use up this month?
i just purchased some stuff from the Ordinary and Im soooo excited. I was wondering about the Vitamin C Serum so i appreciate your review. I dont want anything grainy so I will pass

Oooh enjoy your haul, girl! You can mix the Vit C serum with something like hyaluronic acid and it makes the graininess go away… but I’d much rather find a Vitamin c serum I can use without having to make a concoction.

You are sooo close on that Tarte blush, good job for sticking with it for so long. I already told you on instagram but I love those Becca lip glosses! Tigerlily looks like a beautiful shade. Good luck using your June makeup focus products!

Thank you! I had to take a break from it because I was sooo sick of the shade lol, but I’m so ready to finish it up now!
So glad you were able to pick up a set of these glosses. It’s my first time trying them too, and they’re so impressive!

It will probably take you a month or two max with what little is left. It will feel amazing when it’s all done!

I better finish it this month, or else I’m gonna cry…hahah. It WILL feel very satisfying! And I’ll feel like I can justify the THREE blushes I recently bought by finishing off one… *cough*

I’ve always liked this idea for a post! So good for getting more use out of products that would otherwise be neglected! I’m doing a similar thing for makeup at the moment and I have enjoyed switching up my routine actually.
I’ve been on a long no-buy (over a month I want to say? possible 2) but feel like I’m going to break it soon as it’s my birthday month! 😅😆
