Hi, beauties! Today I’m sharing with you the products I’m choosing to focus on in July, as well as how I did on the products I chose for June. July is probably my favourite month, because it’s the first month that I truly think of as summer. All of the bright, fun shades come out to play this month!
First, let’s go through how I did on my June focus:
For the eyeshadow palette, I chose to use the Tarte Tartelette in Bloom palette, and I thoroughly enjoyed using it all month. It’s such a well-rounded palette for everyday use! The eye shadow single I chose was the Tarte Chrome Paint Pot in Sundrenched, which is just the most stunning, pigmented gold that is perfect for summer. It went perfectly with this palette, too!
In June, I wanted to finish the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Paaarty, which I featured heavily on my blog last month when I put it into my Project Pan. Going into this blush at the beginning of the month, I only had some powder clinging to the sides. I managed to polish it off halfway through the month! After finishing it, I moved on to the Teeez Be Blushious Blush in Very Rouge, which is such a stunning bright shimmery pink. I tied my look together with the Becca Glow Gloss in Tigerlily. It’s a bright but sheer coral that went really well with the eyeshadows and blushes.
Now let’s talk about all the good stuff I want to focus on this month.
JULY MAKEUP FOCUS
I found it particularly difficult to come up with a list of products to put together into a cohesive look this month, so we’ll see how everything goes! I might need to add some things in to make my look more wearable, but hopefully not.
Urban Decay Born to Run Palette
I bought this palette in May and I only just started playing around with it. It’s not the most wearable, every day palette, but hopefully I’ll find a way to use it for work!
Stila Shimmer & Glow in Kitten
I always include a single in my makeup focus projects, and I think this month particularly needs it! The shades in the UD palette might be a little too much for every day wear, so I’m adding this Shimmer and Glow in as an alternative in case I find the shades in the palette to be too dark or colourful for work.
ColourPop Super Shock Cheek in Growth Flirt
I love using bright blushes in the summer, but I found it tough to find a bright blush that would go well with this palette – I think it would probably be safer to go with a neutral blush to pair with a colourful palette like the Born to Run. However, I’m going to give Growth Flirt a shot this month. It truly is the perfect shade for summer!
ColourPop Super Shock Highlighter in Hippo
I love me some fun highlighter shades in the summer, and I always break this one out when the weather gets hot. Hippo is a pretty lavender highlighter, and I especially love pairing this with bright blushes. I think this will pair perfectly with Growth Flirt!
Physician’s Formula Murumuru Butter Bronzer
This bronzer has become a cult classic, and for good reason. It’s so buttery, and is the perfect tone for a bronzer, not too red, but not too muddy either. I’ve been using this bronzer for a long time, and am a bit curious as to see how long this will take me to hit pan!
La Roche Posay Anthelios Mineral SPF 50
Now that it’s bright and sunny outside and I’m spending way more time outdoors, I’m pulling out all of my outdoor sunscreens to use again. I was using this one the other day and realized that this sunscreen expires this month, so I need to finish it up this month. I love it because it’s slightly tinted for those days you don’t want to wear foundation, particularly when you’re going to the beach or something!
MAC Fix+
These limited edition scents recently came into my collection and I’m very excited to use them. These ones in particular are perfect for the summer, because the scents are so summery and refreshing! I’ve been using them one and off since I purchased them, but I would like to concentrate on using them more!
The Body Shop Pinita Colada Body Butter
This scent was a limited edition scent from 2 summers ago! I bought it in 2017, opened it last summer but didn’t finish it before summer ended, so I put it away. I’ve taken it out again this year, and I need to finish it up this summer! I don’t want to put it away for another summer.
That’s it for this post! What are you trying to use up this month?
The Colourpop blush and highlighter look fun and I also agree that they will pair well together! Can’t wait to see how you get on with the MAC Fix+ sprays and if you gravitate towards one more than the other in next month’s update 🙂

I’m really struggling with the blush right now! I’ve only owned it for a few months but I feel like it’s drying out? It’s a pretty shade though.
I’ve been rotating between the three scents! it’s really hard to choose a favourite, to be honest!

Is the blush not a powder formula?
Glad all the sprays are enjoyable for you!

Oh my goodness! It’s really really hard to choose a favourite, to be honest. They all smell good and I love all three! The only ones that I didn’t buy were the peony and cucumber (surprisingly – usually love cucumber). I would say whichever one you think you might like, you should get it cause you probably can’t go wrong!

The Butter Bronzer is so good! When I got it last year I initially didn’t understand the hype, but I kept using it and loving it more and more. I have pale skin so the undertone is absolutely perfect for me, which can be a bit hard to find.
The Urban Decay Born to Run Palette can be a bit intimidating but it’s really amazing quality. I don’t reach for it everyday but I’m glad I have it in my collection!

I totally agree with you! It is perfect for people with fair skin tones. It’s hard to find bronzers that work for a variety of skin tones, but somehow this one does that!
So far, I’m really enjoying it, but you’re right, it is a little intimidating! I’m excited to continue playing with it and creating new looks, though.

I think it’s one of those palettes that the more you play with it, the more you appreciate it. There’s an endless amount of looks you can do with it!

Yay that Tarte blush is gone! You’ve done an amazing job of using it all up! I really wish that all blushes/bronzers came in smaller sizes so that it wouldn’t take years to pan a product..
I’m sure you can come up with a few daytime looks with born to run, the first row of mattes looks neutral enough for the office. It’s such a pretty palette, will you be sharing any looks you do with it?
I love those little bottles of Fix+ the citrus scents will be perfect for July 🙂

Thanks, girl! I totally agree, I wish more bronzers and blushes came in minis, partly so they can be cheaper and partly so we can actually finish them up!
The first row is actually TOO neutral LOL, But yes, I do use most of those shades for work. I like my neutrals, but I like there to be a variety of browns/golds/champagnes, you know what I mean? Either way, I guess this isn’t meant to be a “going to the office” palette, haha! Yes, I specifically put it in my Makeup Focus this month because I’m hoping to do a review on it, including some looks!

I wish that there was a mini section at the drugstore! Sephora has one but the prices are still pretty expensive.
Oh dear, that could be a problem haha. But I’m sure you can find a way to wear the rest of those colors for work! Or at least some/most of them?
I can’t wait for your review!

[…] and I was SO CLOSE to finishing it up but never quite got there. I put this in last month’s Makeup Focus in hopes of finishing the rest, and my mission was accomplished. To be honest, I’m very proud […]
