Hi friends! Today I’m sharing a type of post that I personally enjoy reading the most: yearly beauty favourites! I love seeing what other people discovered and enjoyed using during the year, because you find some really good recommendations. I, ahem, purchased a lot of stuff in 2019, and as a result have added some really standout products to my collection. Just as a note, these are not necessarily products that were new on the market in 2019, but they are all products that I discovered during the year. If I didn’t find a new favourite in a certain category during the year, I did not include it in this post (notice that I’m missing a favourite mascara, concealer, etc.) Without further ado, let’s get to it!
It’s not quite the end of the month yet, but today I thought I would share with you my beauty favourites from January to June. I don’t think I’ve ever talked about my monthly favourites, largely because I use the same products for long periods of time. However, I feel like within a six-month time frame, I’ve used enough of a variety to share some discoveries I’ve really enjoyed.
All of these products were either new to my collection in 2018, or it came into my collection in 2017 but I didn’t really get a chance to use and form an opinion on them until this year.
Oribe Texturizing Spray
I have never been into hair products, not even drugstore brands, so I don’t know how I ended up with an Oribe product. I bought this in April from my hairdresser, and I fell head over heels for it right away. It really provides my hair with a lot of texture, and separates my curls exactly the way I want them to, when they tend to clump up together into one large curl when I don’t use product. I haven’t found a product since that works quite as well. Not to mention, Oribe products smell orgasmic! Unfortunately, I used up this travel-sized texturizing spray within a month – I can’t remember exactly how much it was, but it was about $35 for 75mL, which is expensive stuff! If I can’t find a replacement, I think I *will* repurchase this. In the meantime, I’ll keep searching.
Delectable Nourishing Hand Cream – $14.95 (Discontinued)
Canadian beauty bloggers have been talking about the Delectable line forever, but I haven’t had a chance to try anything from them until I found a 6-tube set of their hand creams during Christmas. I specifically loved the scent Snow Sugar, but overall I’ve really been enjoying the formula of this hand cream regardless of the scent. The formula is thick without being greasy, and most importantly, it keeps my hands moisturized very well.
Hello again! I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day, regardless of how you spent it! I wanted to continue with my Valentine’s Day theme and share with you 8 products that I absolutely love, but that I never hear anyone talk about. Is this topic a bit of a stretch for Valentine’s Day? Maybe. But just roll with it, please? A lot of products are hyped up, some for good reason. For me, I feel like these items don’t get the hype they deserve!
Shiseido Perfect Rouge Lipstick
Everyone talks about the MAC lipsticks, Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche lipsticks, and the Urban Decay Vice lipsticks…but no one talks about the Shiseido Perfect Rouge lipsticks! The formula of these are so stellar – pigmented and creamy, but so lightweight with a bit of shine shine. It feels like you’re wearing a lip balm, only with the coverage of a lipstick. I only own one of these in a full size and a bunch of deluxe samples from GWPs I’ve received over the years, but they all perform beautifully.
