Review: Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipsticks

Hello, everyone! Today I’m talking about the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipsticks, a review that is a long time coming. I never really hear anyone talking about these on social media, BUT these lipsticks have 1,000 reviews on the Sephora website with a rating of 4.5 stars, which means they are truly loved by a lot of beauty lovers! I’ve made it no secret on my Instagram that I am completely in love with these, but I’ve never done a detailed review of them before. They’re currently on sale at Sephora and have been for a while, so I want to let everyone know how great these are in case you want to get your hands on them!

I randomly tried these for the first time back in August when I saw that they were part of Sephora’s Weekly Wow sale. I knew absolutely nothing about these lipsticks at the point, but they were half price, and I thought, “A Bite Beauty product marked down by half? Heck yes, I am going to try this!” Since then, I’ve purchased 3 more of them whenever I saw them on sale. Buying four lipsticks from the same line is saying a lot about the quality of these, considering I usually only own two or three of any lipstick formula. I like to try a lot of new lip products but I don’t want to own 49,274,910 lipsticks, which means a lot of the time I can only buy one or two of from each line so I can try a bit of everything. However, these are too good to pass up!

Holiday Gift Guide – Affordable Beauty Edition

Hello, everyone! Today is the second installment of my holiday gift guide, where I’m sharing my picks for affordable beauty products. These are all products that I love myself, and best of all, they’re all under $30 CAD! I think these would be particularly good as stocking stuffers or gift exchanges where you might have a budget to work with!

Becca Drenched in Glow Mini Face Set – $30 CAD

This Becca set only retails for $18, and is new to Sephora. What a perfect way to try a well-rounded sample of Becca’s most popular products, which includes minis of a Glow Gloss, a Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighter, and their First Light Priming Filter. For some reason, I can no long find this on the Sephora website (maybe it sold out?) but this Jet, Set, Glow set is a good choice as well. Although at $30 it is pricier, it has both of Becca’s bestselling primers as well as their Eye Brightening Corrector, which I also love.

March Low-Buy and Anti-Haul

At the beginning of 2017, I set March to be a no-buy month for me. I thought this would be really hard after doing a no-buy in February, but we’ve been too busy for me to even worry about shopping for makeup, so it hasn’t really been an issue! Although it’s not quite the end of the month, I’m 100% sure I’m not going to buy anything in the last three days, which means I was able to stay true to my no-buy! *throws confetti* Since the lack of purchases makes my March no-buy post pretty much non-existent, I thought today I would stick with the theme of not buying anything and do an Anti-Haul post. The idea of the anti-haul is sharing popular beauty products that I will NOT be buying! This does not mean that any of these products are bad or poor-performing at all – they just don’t interest me enough to purchase.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Prismatic Amethyst – $46

This one might be a little controversial because of all the hype surrounding this. I really love the quality of Becca highlighters, and this one actually looks gorgeous. However, I’m not sure I’m into the lavender highlighter trend as of late. It would be a stunning shade for people with fair, cool-toned skin, but this would look so off on me!

Engagement Shoot Makeup Look

I have mostly either been doing makeup posts or wedding posts, but today’s post is both of these topics combined! We just had our engagement shoot this past Sunday. Since we got engaged by the water, we wanted to reflect that and decided to do the shoot at a lake in the Rocky Mountains.

A few months ago, our wedding photographer asked us if we were okay doing the shoot at 6 in the morning on a Sunday, since apparently the period shortly after sunrise or before sunset is considered “golden hour” for photography. Without thinking, we said, “Yeah, sure, whatever makes the photos look the most flattering!” We are both morning people, but when it actually came down to it the morning of, it was a little tough. Since we had to be at the lake by 6 am and the drive out there is roughly an hour and a half, I couldn’t get my hair and makeup done that morning since no one would be available to do for me at 3:00am (lol). With hair, I needed serious help as I am completely useless with doing my own hair. I got my hair done Saturday afternoon and basically tried to not sleep on it that night.
