Dupe or Not? | Physician’s Formula Spotlight Illuminating Primer vs Becca Backlight Priming Filter

Hello, everyone! Today, I’m sharing a post comparing my beloved Becca Backlight Priming Filter to the Physician’s Formula Spotlight Illuminating Primer, which is somewhat new to my collection.

I haven’t done a dupe post in a very long time, mostly because I don’t really like owning two products that are very similar to one another at the same time. If I’m going to be spending money on something, I want it to be vastly different from what I already own, ya know what I mean? However, when Stashmatters told me that the Physician’s Formula Spotlight Illuminating Primer is a similar product to the Becca Backlight Priming Filter, I knew I had to try it. I’ve loved the Backlight Priming Filter for the last two years. My dry skin will take any glow it can get, and if I can find a cheap product that performs the same as a high-end version, I will take it!

I find Physician’s Formula products to be ridiculously expensive for drugstore makeup, so I always wait for a sale before I buy their products. This was originally $23.99 at Shoppers, but after watching it for sales, I eventually bought it for $12.99, which means it was more than half off. I basically had no choice but to snatch it up! Read on to see how I think these products compare.

April Monthly Makeup & March Update

Hello, everyone! Instead of doing a Project Pan this year, I decided to choose a set of products to focus for a single month, and change them up each month so that I don’t get bored. The point isn’t to pan any of these products (although that would be a bonus!), but just to rotate through my products so I get use out of everything I own. Today, I’m talking about the items I am focusing on using for April, and what I thought about the products I chose for March!

Review: Physician’s Formula Murumuru Butter Line

Given the hot summer weather, I thought it would be the perfect time to do a review of the ever-popular products from the Physician’s Formula Murumuru Butter collection. I know these products have been out for a long time, but it actually took me quite a while after the release to purchase all of these. I now own one shade from each of the bronzers, blushes, and highlighters and have had a few months to test them out, and will be reviewing all three in this post.

To me, Physician’s Formula products are one of the higher priced drugstore products out there, and I never buy from them unless they’re having a sale. All of these products range from $14.99-$21.00 depending on where you buy it.

The Murumuru powders all smell the same – a fun, tropical scent that reminds me of a pina colada. I can’t detect it when it’s on my skin, but the scent is pretty strong – when I open my makeup drawer, I usually get a whiff of it. I can imagine that it’s strong enough to bother some people.

According to Physician’s Formula, these powders all contain Murumuru Butter, Cupuacu Butter and Tucuma Butter, all of which are from the Amazon. These products are also supposed to contain some great ingredients such as essential fatty acids and pro-vitamins that are supposed to make your skin nourished.

2018 Spring Beauty Picks

Spring is finally upon us! Usually  try to live in the moment as much as possible, but this year, I’ve been anxiously waiting for it to become spring since January 1st and am so happy the weather is FINALLY starting to warm up (let’s ignore the fact that it’s forecasted to snow over Easter…)

I have to admit that I’m one of those people that changes my makeup depending on the season, and in the springtime, I ditch the vampy shades I’ve been wearing all winter. The more colourful makeup items resurface from the bottom of my collection, and in particular, you’ll see a lot of peachy shades in this post, which pretty much carry me from March to the end of August. Read on for my picks!
