Sephora VIB Haul

I had the opportunity to shop the Sephora VIB sale the last two weekends, and while I had intended on walking away with three or four items, I ended up going a little crazy during the Sephora sale. In my defense, other than the odd Weekly Wow sale item, I haven’t purchased any makeup from Sephora this year outside of the two other sales they’ve held! So naturally I had to make up for it during this current sale, haha.

I made three separate orders in the span of the first weekend of the sale, but did not buy anything on the second weekend – in fact, I made it a point to completely avoid the Sephora stores and website because I spent WAY too much money on the first weekend. Read on to see what made it into my cart!

Herbivore Balance & Clarify Natural Skincare Mini Collection – $62 ($49.60 after discount)

I made my first purchase of the sale online because I hadn’t seen the two products I wanted in stores. This kit was one that I was going to get for sure. It was initially out of stock before the sale, but they must have stocked up when the sale started because I managed to get my hands on it. The packaging is so stellar! I’m really excited to start using these products.

Laneige Kiss and Make Up Set

Laneige Kiss and Make Up Set – $32 ($25.60 after discount)

I was a little wishy-washy about buying this set because some of my blogging friends don’t like the Laneige lip masks, but now that I have it, I’m really excited to use it. The original lip mask retails for $24, and for an extra $4, you get a full size of the lip mask plus minis of the limited-edition scents. I hope I end up liking these, because I have 4 of them to play with!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked.jpg

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Palette – $95 ($76 after discount)

This is the purchase I was most excited for. I’ve held off on buying the Ambient Lighting Edit palettes for the last four years, but finally decided to take the plunge this year as this palette has caught my eye the most out of all of them so far. I’ve used this every day since to test the product out for review, and so far I have been absolutely loving the shades.

Bite Beauty Anastasia Beverly Hills.jpg

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick in Jicama – $28 ($22.40 after discount)

I bought the Amuse Bouche liquified lipsticks during a Weekly Wow sale in August and have been in love ever since, so I’ve been wanting to start collecting a few more of these. Jicama is a warm-toned brick shade, and is absolutely perfect for the fall/winter season.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in Metallic Rose – $21 ($16.80 after discount)

The ABH lip glosses were a product that I tried for the first time during the last Sephora sale in August, and I also really enjoyed it and wanted to try another one. I actually don’t own a lot of lip products in this shade, so it’s a good addition to my collection!

I thought I was done with the Sephora sale at this point, but after my second haul, I got an email from Sephora saying that I was $131 away from renewing my Rouge status, and I was unsure of what to do! I already bought everything I wanted, including Christmas gifts for friends and family. $131 is not a small amount to spend on stuff I don’t need, but also I felt like I was close enough to Rouge status that I might as well just do it, ya know? I took to my Instagram Stories to take a poll on whether or not I try to reach Rouge status, and the split was 70% for yes and 30% for no!

Luckily, a friend of mine told me that she wanted to stock up on her foundation and setting spray, which cost $89 ($71 after the discount), so I only had to spend $72 (or $60 after the discount) to reach Rouge status. Here is how I decided to “wisely” spend my money…

Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Liquified Lipstick in Cassava – $21 ($16.80 after discount)

Still trying to collect more of these babies! Since the two shades I own in the liquified lipsticks are more neutral, I wanted a bright red. This shade is absolutely perfect for the holiday season.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette – $55 ($44 after discount)

Okay, so in my wish list post, I said my goal was to NOT buy any eyeshadow palettes, and I firmly believe that I would have made it if not for the whole Rouge/not Rouge debacle! I really wracked my brain trying to figure out what I “needed”, but I already own so much skincare that I’m going to be using them into the next sale. I finally settled for the Soft Glam palette, another neutral palette I don’t need but have been coveting since it came out. Oh my gosh, what am I doing with my life!

What did you buy or are planning to buy during the sale?

  1. You’re so lucky that you got that Laneige set, it’s not sold online at Sephora Canada anymore. I was planning on asking for it for my birthday in two weeks 😦 I hope you love it, let me know which flavour is your favourite!
That Hourglass palette is beautiful! It’s definitely a good thing to get on sale, it’s not cheap!
I remember you debating on whether or not to pick up the soft glam palette. I hope you like it, the shades are neutral but there are some fun shimmers you can play with in it.
    Enjoy your haul! xx

    • I know, when I was writing this post I realized it’s not on the website anymore! If it makes you feel any better, I haven’t used all of the scents but I did open and smell them, and the LE scents are quite subtle and soft. The original is definitely the most fragrant.

Totally! I don’t think I’d ever pick up an Hourglass products without a sale, haha.

Ugh I know, I’m so bad, I definitely don’t need another neutral palette haha!

  2. Oh no! I want the Laneige so bad and this has tempted me again! I’ve not tried the lip product but so many people I know say it’s great. Herbivore is another brand that interests me. Have you used their products before? X

  3. Omg. Even as a non-regular eyeshadow user (although I’m probably about to convert, I’m having so much fun experimenting!), that Soft Glam palette looks amazing! I love the lighter colours. They are all wearable and would make excellent transition colours. The lightest shades in palettes I find can be disappointing – either that chalky white or baby pink that barely shows on the skin. But they actually look great.

I have heard so many things about Herbivore and totally love the packaging aesthetic! Wish it was available here because it’s definitely a brand I’d like to try out. Oh well. Guess I can’t have everything LOL.

  4. I mean, I think the Soft Glam palette was just the logical choice, you’ve been wanting it for a while and it was on sale and that’s really the only justification you need? 😉

I’ll be interested in hearing your thoughts on the Herbivore set. I was a fan of their Blue Tansy mask and was wondering what their other products were like. I was going to pick up that set but ended up with a Peter Thomas Roth one instead.

    Enjoy all your new goodies!
