NYE Look: Champagne Toast

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! I had all of last week off as I had four days of vacation left that I wasn’t allowed to carry into the new year. It was so quiet and relaxing – just what I wanted. I am back to work tomorrow, and am absolutely dreading going back to face the music.

Anyways, today I wanted to share a second New Years Eve look. The last look I did was a dark smoky eye, but I wanted to try a lighter, sparkly eye for a less dramatic NYE look as well.

NYE Eye Look: Midnight Mystery

Hello everyone! Today I was playing around with a New Years Eve party look. We have zero plans for New Years at the moment so I have absolutely no place to wear this look, but it’s fun to play with colours either way! It’s your typical dark smoky NYE look, but it was still fun to do!

Festive Christmas Look

This is the THIRD time I’ve tried to do this look! I wanted to post this look before my Holiday Makeup Favourites, but the first time looked terrible. Then,  stashmatters mentioned thatshe thought these colours would look good together so I was encourage to try again. Second time did not work because the lighting was horrible. I have been finding it very difficult to photograph makeup looks due to the fact that there’s only about 8 hours of weak sunlight during the winter, and on weekdays I am not at home when the sun is out. Anyways, the second time I tried to do the look again, the sun was setting and it was already too dark. Third time’s the charm!

Holiday Must Haves

Christmas is coming in 19 days, but there’s so much going on in my life right now that I have been a complete Grinch this year and have not been in a festive mood at all. In the last week or so, I’ve been putting in a lot of effort to get myself in the Christmas spirit – we found the time to put up the tree, I started listening  Christmas music this weekend as I got ready to go out…it’s still not working! As another way to make me get in the Christmas mood, I thought I would share my favourites that usually get me through the holiday season, as well as some new purchases I know I’ll be using a lot this Christmas.

November Favourites

Another month, another favourites post! I didn’t really have an opportunity to try new makeup, and as weird as it sounds, I didn’t get much time to even think much about makeup. I’ve also included random favourites this month. I’ve been entertaining the idea of doing this for all of my favourites posts – haven’t decided if I actually will moving forward.

November Reads

Yes, I know the title says November and today is officially December – I had meant to get this post out yesterday but ended up staying late at work so it never happened!

This month, the book I read was called The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty. I had meant to read this book on the beach while I was in Hawaii, but I was too busy enjoying the scenery and gazing off into the water every time we went to the beach. Instead, I read most of it on the plane ride back home. This is a much less serious book than the ones I’ve read in the past two months – it’s chick lit, but it was also a page-turner.
