Anti-Haul: Holiday Release Edition

Every fall, us beauty lovers eagerly look forward to all of the holiday releases being announced and deciding which items to put on our wish lists for the holiday sales and for Christmas. This year, I’ve noticed that there’s more I’m not interested in than ones that I am. Hence, today I’m talking about all of the holiday releases I don’t plan on buying. My list is not extensive – there are a whole lot more holiday products that I will not be buying, but I didn’t want my blog post to be a one-hour read. While I was researching, I realized all of the brands/collections I have listed have at least one eyeshadow palette in the collection, which may be why I don’t want any of these. I feel like I’m drowning in the eyeshadows I already own and don’t want any more!

Please don’t be offended if you want to buy (or already own) any of these products – I feel like these are really popular products right now, and they are popular for a reason!

Sephora Holiday Bonus Sale Wish List

Hello, you guys! Today I’m sharing my Sephora wish list for the upcoming sale, which was just announced a few days ago. In previous years, the sale has always come around the second week of November, but or some reason, this year’s sale is starting a bit earlier than usual. I think this is going to be the last year I’m a Rouge member, so I’m going to enjoy that

The sale date and discount rates will be as follows:

VIB Rouge: 20% off, Friday, Nov 1 – Monday, Nov 11, use code HOLIDAYSAVE online
VIB: 15% off, Thursday, Nov 7 – Monday, Nov 11, use code HOLIDAYSAVE online
BI: 10% off, Thursday, Nov 7 – Monday, Nov 11, use code HOLIDAYSAVE online

It’s funny, because I spend all year creating my wish list, but when the sale actually comes, I don’t really want to part with my money, hahah. As per usual, I’ve divided my wishlist into items I will 100% buy, 50% chance of buying, and 25% chance of buying.

Review: Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize Cream Shadow

Hello, my loves! Today, I have another review of a Charlotte Tilbury product – I’m on a roll! I don’t own a lot of products from luxury brands, and as my mentioned, Charlotte Tilbury was a brand I have only admired from afar until recently. The Eyes to Mesmerize cream shadows were just one of the few products that I have been absolutely dying to try from the brand, so when Sephora had their 20% summer sale in August, I took it as an opportunity to finally own one of these.

THE BASICS

Charlotte Tilbury’s water-infused shadow is enriched with soothing vitamin E and has a liquid-cream texture that is effortless to apply. Soft-focus pigments blur lines and imperfections for a visibly youthful finish. It features an easy glide-on formula in a striking high-shine that won’t drag on your delicate eye area. As part of Charlotte Tilbury’s one-minute, no-mirror makeup products, this is perfect for makeup on the go. Plus, the formula has a cooling effect that is refreshing on overworked eyes.

Charlotte Tilbury has 6 shades in the Eyes to Mesmerize cream shadow formula. These are made in Italy, and retail at $39 CAD. They can be purchased on SephoraNordstrom, Beautylish, and the Charlotte Tilbury website. The shade I purchased, Marie Antoinette, is described as an antique oyster gold. I’m not even sure what antique oyster gold would look like, but I would say this shade is a warm-toned taupe.

Review: Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Beauty Light Wand

Hello, my loves! Today, I have a review of the Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Beauty Light Wand. Earlier this year, Charlotte Tilbury released their Glowgasm collection, and this was one of the many products in the collection that caught my eye. However, being a product from Charlotte Tilbury, I wasn’t sure if it was worth the expensive price tag. In the summer, I had redeemed 2,500 Sephora points for a $100 gift card, and I decided that I wanted to use the gift card to buy this. Read on to see what I think of it!

THE BASICS

The Glow Gel contained in this product enhances the skin’s luminosity for a high-gloss highlight that plays with the light and stays dewy all day. Velvety silica has magical, soft-focusing powers, and sensorial oil gives skin a silky-soft feel. Lindera extract magically mimics the effects of light for a youthful glow.

The Beauty Light Wand is described as a wand that highlights the face, and is essentially a liquid highlighter or blush. Within the Beauty Light Wand range, the brand has two High Blushes and two Highlighter wands (one is their original Beauty Light Wand, which isn’t in their Glowgasm collection). The shade I own is Pinkgasm, which is a High Blush. This product retails at $50 for 12 mL and can be purchased at Sephora, Beautylish, Cult Beauty, and the Charlotte Tilbury website. The Beauty Light Wand is made in Italy.

Review: Sydney Grace Mystery Bag Items

Hello, my friends! This post was supposed to go up two weeks ago, but things in my life have honestly been so crazy, or more accurately, I’ve lacked the ability to properly plan for my blog these last two months while my life has been busy. Today is part 2 of my review of the Sydney Grace products I picked up in July, which are the items included in the mystery bag they included in my order. See here for Part 1 of my review, which includes the things that I picked, as well as my haul post where I talk about the ordering and shipping process from this US indie brand to Canada.

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE MYSTERY BAG

I took a chance on a mystery bag, which was one of the deals available during the sale. If you spent over $50, you could choose a mystery bag. There were three choices for colour family: warm-toned, cool-toned, or brights, and two options for either light or deep skin.

I chose the warm-toned bag for light-medium skin. To me, warm tones could mean shades such as golds, bronzes, and coppers, but I feel like a lot of palettes these days that are classified as warm-toned tend to focus on a lot of orange and red shades. I don’t wear these colours often, so I was a little worried that the mystery would focus heavily on these types of shades. However, I signed up for a mystery bag knowing that I could get anything, so I was fine with this.

Review: Sydney Grace Pressed Eyeshadows

Hi everyone! Back in early August, I spoke about my experience hauling from Sydney Grace during their Christmas in July sale. After using their products for two months, I am ready to review of the products that I hauled! This review will include swatches as well as some eye looks.

My haul consisted of all pressed eyeshadows, so that’s what I will be reviewing today. I also received a mystery bag which was filled with more random products, and I will be reviewing the products included in that bag in my next review. In the meantime, read on to see what I think about Sydney Grace’s pressed shadows!
